It's just crazy how much Sweden looks like the midwest. Where all the Swedes seemed to settle upon arriving in the US.

The sky is the same color, the cattails, the fields. Even the barns. Ahh, Michigan.

Have a great FRIDAY Chitta!

It's so true! I was just going to say how oddly familiar the top photo appears to me.

The clouds are wonderful.

Happy moon to you.

Anna! yes, I'm still on vacation, but home at the moment. just posted :)

i've soooo much to catch up on in blog land!

JS and Owl, i think you're right! i've never been to the midwest, though, in one of the great novels about swedish emigrants (by Vilhelm Moberg) it's described how they settle down where the landscape is familiar and reminds of the homeland.

what's so special to me in this part of the country is the closeness to sea. i live on the east coast, which means i can never se the sun set in the ocean. my aunt, who i stay with when i go down there, lives just by the sea almost as far down southwest you can get in sweden. we can sit on their veranda and watch the sun set in the great ocean.
